With so many types of hair extensions out there, how do you know which is right for you? Scan through these blogs and you'll see that there are plenty of choices to make everyone happy. In this blog, we will explore the sew-in type of hair extensions and why they might be the right option for you.
If your hair is extremely thick and you want extra length, you might want to choose this method. Why? Sometimes with thicker hair, the tape-in type can get lost in the bulk, and odds are you will have to add way too many of them to be comfortable and/or cost effective.
If your hair is super curly, sometimes the tape-in type won't adhere as well, due to the curls wanting to pull away from the adhesive strips. The sew-ins can give you more control over this by anchoring the extensions more solidly into your curls. If you like to straighten your curly hair, this type can be more durable as well, since when you are brushing aggressively they hold on better.
If you are up for doing a bit of your own maintenance to save trips to the salon in between, this method allows you to do a bit of tightening at home. In order to do this, you will need to have the extensions applied in a specific way, ask your stylist to help.
You can use different colors with the sew-in type, but they are not quite as versatile in this area as some of the other methods, unless you cut the wefts into smaller pieces. If you purchase the right type of wefts that can be cut, you will have more flexibility. Consult your stylist before buying to get just the look you want.
As you can see, there are many types of hair extensions to suit everyone. Explore the method that's right for you and enjoy!
